Townsville Airport is one of the fastest growing regional centres in Queensland and over 200,000 residents call this place home. Qantas, Jetstar, Virgin Australia and Jetgo fly to this airport. Townsville is the gateway to the Great Barrier Reef and the popular Magnetic Island. The city is also within access to national park and historical and outback experiences. The flight to Townsville from Melbourne is 4 hours and 3 hours from Sydney.
Townsville Airport is only 12 minute drive or 7 km from the city centre. Catch a taxi or an airport shuttle bus to make it into town.
Sitting in the heart of Townsville, Rydges Southbank Townsville offers business and leisure travellers alike a premium location in the Central Business District close to shopping, dining and entertainment. Located on Palmer Street, the Rydges Southbank Convention Centre is next to the hotel.

The registration desk is located in the foyer of Rydges Southbank Convention Centre. This is where you will receive your delegate lanyard name tag and delegate handbook. Please ensure you wear your name tag at all times.

Complimentary Wi-Fi is available at Rydges Southbank Convention Centre for web browsing and checking emails. It is not suitable for downloading or streaming large files. Please see the conference registration desk for how to connect.
All speakers are asked to make themselves known to staff at the conference registration desk and to pre-load their presentation (if not already submitted or altered) at least one hour before they are scheduled to speak. A technician and conference staff will be available throughout the conference for assistance.
The catering venues have been advised of any special diet preferences you have indicated on your registration form. Please identify yourself to venue staff as they come to serve you. For day catering, there may be a specific area where special food is brought out. Please check with catering staff.
You will be able to download speaker presentations that we have permission to distribute from the conference website after the conclusion of the conference. We will send you an email with all the details when this is available.
Smart casual dress is appropriate at the conference.
Townsville has a tropical climate. Summer months are generally considered to be hot and muggy. Day temperatures often average around 29°C to 31°C. Night temperatures average around 20°C to 24°C.
