Global Eco Conference is COVID-19 ‘Friendly’
With the conference traditionally being staged in November/December, the Board of Ecotourism Australia have taken the decision to maintain its commitment to a physical conference. In line with the current government predictions, the timing, in the first week of December, will be in a period when domestic tourism and limited international tourism has been re-opened. However, it is expected that there will be significant flow-on restrictions and challenges posed by the serious economic and social impacts of the pandemic. The situation will be regularly monitored during the planning stages of the conference and all recommended and required precautions – including social distancing and hygiene requirements – will be taken during the staging of the event. Registered attendees and participants will be kept up to date with any changes made to the program due to the continued impact of the COVID-19 crisis.
With some uncertainty over the ability for delegates from all parts of the country (and overseas) being able to attend the Global Eco Conference due to some border closures, Ecotourism Australia has developed a range of innovations to allow delegates to attend the conference in person or online through live-streaming.
Also to provide delegates with greater certainty, a very liberal cancellation policy has been developed for COVID-19 related cancellations.
In the event that a delegate is unable to attend Global Eco due to COVID-19 related issues, a full refund will be available up until the day before the conference. Full details of the cancellation policy are available under step 6 here.
